Aerodynamics- Refined!

Aerodynamics- Refined!Aerodynamics- Refined!Aerodynamics- Refined!

Bringing to market a profound step-change in

aviation propulsion efficiency!

Change is in the air!

deltaBurn Pte Ltd

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We are an Aerospace R&D company registered in Singapore. Our invention is a modification to turbofan jet engines of current technology aircraft, which produces a double-digit improvement in jet engine fuel burn efficiency and range:

  • Much Lower Fuel Burn,
  • Much More Flight Range!

Our test jet has demonstrated the many beneficial effects both on the ground and in flight, and we are ready to start the road to certification, so that airlines can adopt our technology. Emissions attributed to aviation currently stand at 3% or more of global emissions, and this slice of the pie is growing due to fleet growth and the fact that other industries are getting greener, faster.

Rather than moving the debit-credit around (SAF), it is our mission to reduce fuel burn and emissions at the source!
In doing so, we will generate billions in savings for the aviation industry, and significantly reduce aviation emissions!

2025: Happy New Year!

From all of us at deltaBurn, we wish you a great 2025!

Since the end of 2024 we have been busy with getting our Merlin III ready for our test program aimed at completing our first STC; this included bringing aircraft systems up to date and having the aircraft certified to operate in the Experimental Category.

For more background, please have a look at this article on LinkedIn. As always- like, comment, participate!

Who is deltaBurn?

  • 30+ years of experience and patents around aerodynamics & aviation efficiency
  • Our new jet engine fan efficiency technology has shown efficiency gains in TSFC of over 30%
  • These changes were demonstrated during ground- and flight testing

Another "equal thrust" test

MAR24: flight testing with a 737 this time!

Recently, we demonstrated our fascinating technology on a #737 Classic aircraft, equipped with a temporary, proof-of-concept modification installed on one of the CFM56-3 engines.

In cruise, with autopilot on and all trims neutral, the modified engine showed the much cooler, quieter vitals that we've become used to compared to the other engine, all while producing equal thrust: N1 down ~8.5%, N2 down ~4.5%, fuel flow down ~25%, EGT down ~90 degrees, vibration down as well.

All as expected and conform the results we observed during our TFE731 test flights.

With these absolutely astonishing results we achieved our mission goals and conclusively demonstrated that our game-changing technology applies to any turbofan engine, any BPR.

For the record, we created a #737 Classic that burns less fuel than a #737 MAX!

Now picture that scenario across the current worldwide fleet. Which engine type will be the first to be put through our STC program?

"EQUAL THRUST" TEST

Three high-speed ground runs with two different modification configurations on the engines: two runs in the same direction, the last one in opposing direction to cancel out (minimal) wind effects. Please note that with conditions of the day, a normal engine would run at 97.3% N1, burning around 1715 pph.

The end-result: without wind effects, matched take-off thrust was achieved at a 87%/90% N1 mix for these configurations.

Testing continues.

A test of "equal" thrust at different RPM

Our modified engine (left) provides more thrust than the standard engine (right), but does so with a lower RPM, a lower EGT, and much lower fuel burn, CO2 & NOx

Tested & demonstrated, TRL-7 completed.

  • ~30% reduction in fuel burn and emissions, demonstrated
  • Commenced STC process to enable a ~30% reduction in global aviation fuel burn and emissions, making a real change towards NetZero 2050 targets!

What are we doing?

The Change

We release lost performance which has already been paid for in fuel and EGT.

This performance has always been there, it has just never before been accessed.

Magic?

The Impact

We increase the thrust from the fan, while reducing the drag that the fan adds to the torque load. More thrust from part of the engine. Lower torque required.

The thrust increase permits operating at lower RPMs, which reduces fuel flows and operating temperatures.

The Consequences

The Consequences

Lower fuel burns, a lot lower;

Greater range, far greater;

Lower loads on engine components;

Lower temperatures in combustion chamber and turbines, less NOx, lower thermal stresses, lower damage rates to the turbine.

What's not to like?
